Genie’s Gems – Name Your Wish
Genies and lamps tend to be extremely popular in the realm of online slots, which makes sense – they’re the creatures that grant wishes and riches, right? But how well does this one fare compared to the others?

Format and Basic Rules
The slot’s graphics, admittedly, leave something to be desired. They’re bright and colorful, so on paper they should’ve looked great, but unfortunately, the symbols are completely uninspired and beyond generic, and the Genie himself – the main character of the entire slot – genuinely looks like a Hollywood producer caught in the middle of an unsavory act. I wish I was exaggerating, but I’m sure you can see from the screenshots here that it’s not exactly untrue. But hey, visuals aren’t everything, right? How does the game play? Perhaps only its artstyle is bad, but the game itself is fantastic! Ha, I wish (get it?). The slot plays about as generically and predictably as you can possibly imagine. When people complain that slots are nothing more than just some spinning reels, it’s examples like this that prove them right. There’s no free spins, no bonus games, no special symbols, yes, not even a Wild!

Conclusion – I Wish For A Better Slot
It’s frankly ridiculous just how bare and poorly put together “Genie’s Gems” is. It looks terrible, plays terrible and has absolutely nothing that I can point to and say “Yeah, you know, it’s bad, but it’s worth it just for this”. When your slot doesn’t even have something as simple and standard as a Wild symbol, you know you’re in trouble. The only defense I can think of is that the slot is really, really old, but it’s not, it came out in 2013, same year as many of Microgaming’s greatest slots. There’s no excuse. This slot is bad and whoever approved it for release should feel bad. Don’t give your money to it.
